As a means to strengthen businesses and build community, Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA) engages in numerous activities, including: marketing, site selection, networking, and technical assistance to area businesses and entrepreneurs. Prospective business owners are encouraged to work with RPBA before opening their business in Rogers Park. We offer business plan reviews, access to market information and lender referrals and assistance with permitting, license and leasing issues.

The Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP) offers workshops every Wednesday and Friday. Workshops vary each month and are conducted by City Officials, experts, and partner business organizations. All workshops are free, and open to the public.

RPBA members can meet with a small business expert from the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce at our office. Must contact us to schedule in advance. The Small Business Solution Station offers free one-on-one business counseling for entrepreneurs. The Chamber leads aggressive public policy and business growth initiatives and create meaningful events and programs to inform, engage and connect members to each other and the community.

On-Premise Sign Guide: A sign permit from the Department of Buildings is generally required to place a sign on a parcel of land, a building, a structure or a place of business in the City of Chicago. Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights provides legal help for small businesses, nonprofits and social enterprises.

GROW/PROGRESANDO Entrepreneurial Training Program is a project of Rogers Park Business Alliance. GROW/PROGRESANDO aims to help new, emerging, growing and developing businesses with the resources needed to be successful. ¡También ofrecemos servicios en español!

The Illinois Department of Commerce delivers impactful and efficient programs and services through the Offices of Business Development; Community Development; Employment & Training; Energy & Recycling; Energy Assistance; Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology; Film; Tourism; Trade & Investment; and Urban Assistance.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is an independent federal agency that works to assist and protect the interests of American small businesses. They administer programs through district offices throughout the United States and provide additional services through a network of resource partners: Small Business Development Centers, SCORE, U.S. Export Assistance Centers, Women’s Business Centers, and Veteran’s Business Outreach Centers. 

RPBA is the only Small Business Opportunity Center (SBOC) on the northside of Chicago.
