As a means to strengthen businesses and build community, Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA) engages in numerous activities, including: marketing, site selection, networking, and technical assistance to area businesses and entrepreneurs. Prospective business owners are encouraged to work with RPBA before opening their business in Rogers Park. We offer business plan reviews, access to market information and lender referrals and assistance with permitting, license and leasing issues.

RPBA members can meet with a small business expert from the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce at our office. Must contact us to schedule in advance. The Small Business Solution Station offers free one-on-one business counseling for entrepreneurs. The Chamber leads aggressive public policy and business growth initiatives and create meaningful events and programs to inform, engage and connect members to each other and the community.

GROW is a program of Rogers Park Business Alliance. It is an entrepreneurial training program and business incubator. GROW’s curriculum is designed to teach how to create, express and deliver the product or services customers and clients seek.

The Illinois Department of Commerce delivers impactful and efficient programs and services through the Offices of Business Development; Community Development; Employment & Training; Energy & Recycling; Energy Assistance; Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology; Film; Tourism; Trade & Investment; and Urban Assistance.


The Law Project of the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights provides free legal assistance, education and training to community based nonprofit organizations, low/moderate income entrepreneurs and low-income first time homebuyers.

A sign permit from the Department of Buildings is generally required to place a sign on a parcel of land, a building, a structure or a place of business in the City of Chicago. Offers free and low-cost business education workshops on a wide range of topics and SCORE Save & Exit mentors can advise clients about options for loans and other types of business financing.
