The mural reflects the inspiration of young artists, business owners and entrepreneurs in the area while tipping a hat to the rich history of Chicago at the same time. “I’m borrowing from the existing architecture of the building. The history is already here so my job is to bring new life to this foundation. I cannot represent every ethnicity, culture or way of thinking, but I can treat each window with a different sensibility to reflect my respect,” said Bourque. ” I am really painting the dynamics of a working, growing community. I am inspired by the efforts of the hard working people and culture around me.”
