Kaye Buchman

Participatory Budgeting Murals

1300 W. Albion Ave. (North Wall)

“Under the Willow Trees” was inspired by scenic views of Lake Michigan from under the willow trees at Loyola Beach. From this vantage point, you can see a long stretch of beach, a walking pier to a lighthouse, and the Loyola dunes restoration project. Kaye Buchman is a multi-disciplinary visual artist/arts educator with a BFA degree from Illinois State University and a MFA degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her studio work includes large-scale pen and ink drawing, mixed media painting, thematic bookmaking, printmaking, and animation. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows locally and nationally, received numerous awards, and lectured and taught at many institutions including the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the founder and director of KBuchman Studio, a center for arts education and imaginative projects in Rogers Park.
