Indira Freitas Johnson
6513 N. Sheridan Rd. (By Loyola Ave.)
Rising from the grass at Sheridan Road and Loyola Avenue, this fiberglass sculpture is one of 100 identical Buddha heads that are part of Johnson’s Ten Thousand Ripples project. The project, which also includes cultural and community organizations from across Chicago, is meant to spark conversations and interactions about peace and nonviolence.
