Lynn Takata worked closely with Rogers Park community members in the mid-1980s to produce Windform, a 100-foot-long abstract concrete sculpture. Neighborhood residents helped identify the site for the artwork, select its theme, form the steel and lay the concrete material to create its structure. The artwork’s form is meant to represent the movement of the water. The sculpture provides areas to sit and enjoy views of the lake. The form provides slopes for children to climb and play on. A ten-year-old child from the community won a contest to name the artwork Windform.
