Glenwood Alfresco

The Glenwood Alfresco launched in the spring of 2022.

Enjoy outdoor dining and community programming for entertainment and activities on Glenwood Avenue.

The southbound side of Glenwood Avenue between Lunt and Morse is closed 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to vehicular traffic. This stretch of Glenwood Avenue already has a long history of semi-regular street closures for neighborhood events and festivals, including Pride North, the Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival and Glenwood Sunday Market (a program of Rogers Park Business Alliance), a weekly farmers market running from June to October.

The unique structure and features of this portion of Glenwood Avenue make it a welcoming space for cozy arts-oriented neighborhood businesses and community gatherings. By opening up the street for pedestrian and outdoor dining use, we hope to support neighboring performing arts organizations by providing space for pop-up performances as well as additional seating for customers ordering at other nearby restaurants where sidewalk width limits their ability to offer outdoor seating.

We invite the community and business owners to host events at the Glenwood Alfresco, you can find out more here.

We are able to bring you this neighborhood community space thanks to the City of Chicago Alfresco program, Choose Chicago and DIAGEO.
